Job Purpose:

The Analyzer Technician will install, calibrate and repair all process analyzer equipment of the Operating Unit in order to meet requirements as stated in related Standard Operating Procedures using the Work Processes. The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, and HSE standards.

 

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

 

  • Inspect, calibrate, install and maintain process analyzer equipment used for process measurement and control in Manufacturing Units
  • Maintain proper maintenance records
  • Perform process analyzer troubleshooting
  • Communicate status of equipment with all concerned parties such as operations, maintenance and technical
  • Cross train with Instrument Technicians to provide related plant support
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, laws, regulations, and company standards
  • Ensure safety of personnel and maintenance of the equipment
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Notable Working Conditions: Position requires working 10 hours/days 4 days/week with alternating scheduled weekend duty. May have to work overtime and callouts when required.

 

Education Requirements: High School diploma or GED 

 

Language Requirements: English

 

Background and Experience:

  • Associate Degree or better in Electrical, Electronics or Instrument Technology OR equivalent experience (2 years’ experience in an operating chemical plant, performing analytical instrumentation maintenance)
  • Must be able to read SOPs and other manuals (English)
  • Knowledge of Analyzer processes and appolcations
  • Must be able to work in an empowered workgroup with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to work as a team player

 

Desired:

  • Chemical plant operation
  • Experience using of SAP
  • Familiarity with common computer programs such as WORD, EXCEL, etc.
  • Experience with safe work permits

 

Competencies and Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of analytical instrumentation and sampling systems.  This includes gas chromatographs, IR analyzers, paramagnetic O2 analyzers, pH analyzers, etc.
  • Working knowledge of the applicable analyzer group documents such as ISO 9000 manual, Procedures Manual, analyzer application data sheets, and documentation
  • Fundamentals of electronic and electrical systems
  • Excellent troubleshooting/Root Cause Analysis skills
  • Fundamental computer skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with other mechanics and staff personnel (Fluent in English) 
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Desire to excel and achieve results
  • High attention to detail

Desired:

  • Possess skill and knowledge to understand schematic drawings as in process flow and electronic circuits
  • Fundamentals of instrumental methods of measurement
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirement
  • Knowledge of process, laboratory, and mechanical operations
