Job Purpose 
Provide leadership, planning, coordination, development and coaching of the multi-disciplined Reliability Team. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining the site-wide Mechanical Integrity programs, including fixed and rotating equipment, and electrical, instrumentation and analyser systems to optimize safety, cost and reliability. The incumbent is charged to ensure site reliability as measured by On-Stream Reliability (OSR), Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Equipment Availability and other measures of reliability meet industry best practices.  The role will also coordinate efforts with the site Asset Manager to develop, maintain and execute equipment and piping replacement plans to ensure Business Continuity.

The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, policies, guidelines and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform and HSE 
 

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

•    Coach, mentor and lead the Reliability Team (Fixed and Rotating Equipment Specialists, I&E Reliability Engineer, and Analyzer Engineer)
•    Manage the Reliability Team’s contributions, performance, and integration to ensure the business needs are being met and the site is in compliance with Government regulations, industry and company standards.
•    Maintain a strong training program for staff development to meet site needs and priorities.
•    Ensure fixed and rotating equipment information is stored adequately and that software systems support equipment and piping lifetime cycle and replacement planning and analysis required to monitor piping and equipment performance.
•    Audit, consult and lead Root Cause Failure Analysis on mechanical non-conformance issues and implement recommendations to make improvements to the site processes and inspection systems.
•    Champion the Mechanical Integrity element of the site Process Safety Management Process.
•    Foster commitment to safe work practices in the entire Reliability Team.
•    Lead reliability efforts that ensure adherence to the annual Maintenance budget both for Maintenance Expense and Capital Projects
•    Interact with Capital Project planning to ensure all Mechanical Reliability projects are forecasted accurately.
•    Work jointly with other site leadership to ensure site needs are met and a spirit of cooperation is fostered.
•    Maintain appropriate KPI’s for the Reliability Team that accurately reflect performance and effectiveness of the group including the corporate Reliability Dashboard.
•    Lead efforts to develop and monitor quality system processes.
•    Perform other job duties as assigned

Internal: All site leadership and Maintenance & Reliability team members.
External: Vendors and outside service providers.

 

Notable Working Conditions: Combination of office and chemical plant field work.  Occasional domestic and international travel required.

 

Education Requirements:  B.S. degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience

 

Language Requirements: English

 

Background and Experience:  

•    7+ years of combined leadership experience in areas of Reliability Engineering and Maintenance in a production plant setting.
•    Multi-group supervisory experience in such areas as Maintenance, Reliability, Operations, Maintenance Engineering, Technical
 

Compentencies and Skills:

•    Knowledge and experience in Maintenance, Maintenance Engineering and Reliability.
•    Excellent oral and written communication skills.
•    Continuous process improvement tools and processes.
•    Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities in a continuously changing environment.
•    Must be able to work and interface well with all levels at the Site
•    Excellent knowledge of chemical process equipment
