Job Purpose 
The Analyzer Engineer supports the process analyzer group by providing engineering design and project management for new process analyzer systems along with evaluations of existing systems that improve the cost, operability and reliability of the analyzers. Works with Project Engineers on major capital projects. Supports Analyzers Specialists with maintenance projects by providing technical knowledge and expertise.  Supports Asset Management by establishing analyzer lifetimes and replacement schedules.

The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, and HSE standards.
 

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

•    Provide technical support at the request of Operations, Maintenance, Planner/Scheduler and Technical departments for diagnosing equipment problems and developing repair plans
•    Developing, mapping out and maintaining a 10-year strategy to enhance/modernize and maintain the reliability of obsolete, modern, and proposed analyzer project solutions to ensure business continuity and profitability
•    Perform process analyzer troubleshooting
•    Communicate status of equipment with all concerned parties such as Operations, Maintenance and Technical
•    Maintaining analyzer-related Quality System Plans (QSP) and work processes
•    Ensure compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, laws, regulations, and company standards
•    Ensure safety of personnel and maintenance of the equipment
•    Perform other job duties as assigned.

Notable Working Conditions:  Office setting, sitting prolong periods of time and exposed to changing weather conditions outside at the plant.

 

Education Requirements:  B.S. in Electrical or other engineering or Chemistry preferred, or sufficient specific, relevant work experience

 

Language Requirements: English

 

Background and Experience:

•    Must have legal authorization to work in the US 
•    At least five (5) years of experience in the management of the lifecycle of process analyzer systems including sample conditioning (e.g., commissioning, operating, and maintaining)
•    Demonstrated troubleshooting skills in the areas of analyzer Applications and Electronics
•    Extensive knowledge of industry standards and analyzer design fundamentals
•    Strong organizational and planning skills
•    Excellent oral and written communication skills
•    Experience in technical support for Environment & Compliance on the permit to operate (CEMS)
•    Experience with Microsoft Office and SAP
 

Competencies and Skills:

•    Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to identify and resolve  recurring (bad actor) analyzer issues
•    Experience with Process Control Domain (PCD) analyzer data communication architecture and network
•    Experience with analyzer-related Quality System Plans (QSP) 
•    Experience with Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and providing guidance for Preventative Maintenance tasks/studies
•    Ability to read and interpret schematic drawings as in process flow and electronic circuits
•    Knowledge of fundamentals of instrumental methods of measurement and regulatory requirements
