Job Purpose:

In the field of electrical, electronic and Instrument control, strong emphasis is placed on the methods used in the installation, calibration, alteration, and repair of equipment necessary for the safe, continuous operation of Production Units.  Candidate must be fluent with computers and Microsoft programs such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Power Point, and SAP.

The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, and HSE standards.

 

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

 

  • Calibrate, install and maintain electrical, instrument and or power systems used for process measurement and control in Manufacturing Units.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot complex control systems including various shut down systems by using analog and digital instrument or electrical equipment, interpret test results, and apply necessary corrective action.

  • Use and apply Company Safety Standards and regulations, Engineering Standards drawings, Standard Maintenance Procedures, Technical Manuals, Shutdown Manuals, National Electrical Code, and other applicable Standards and Codes.

  • Undertake special assignments required by unusual circumstances, business needs, by request or for training purposes.

  • Accept an equitable share of overtime including holdover, scheduled and emergency callouts.

  • Accept coverage on a rotating basis during Special Event situations such as Hurricane, Freeze, Shutdowns and unit Start-Ups.

  • Participate in a rotational weekend duty roster in order to maintain adequate maintenance coverage for the production units.

  • Participate and complete all requirements as defined by the Hourly Qualification Progression Program.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot Power Distribution equipment such as motors, motor starters, electrical breakers, tie-breakers, power line fuses, transformers (WYE and Delta), and Variable Frequency Drives.

  • Utilize electrical equipment such as a meggers, digital volt meter, Bucket Truck, and CBS ARC Safe breaker retrieval device, and Flash suits.

  • Perform other job duites assigned

External: 3rd party contractors

 

Notable Working Conditions: Position requires working 10 hours/days 4 days/week with alternating scheduled weekend duty. May have to work overtime and callouts when required.

 

Education Requirements: High School diploma or GED 

 

Language Requirements: English

 

Background and Experience:

  • Experience in all electrical repairs.  Start/Stop switches, pressure switches, solenoids, and level devices requiring electrical energy. Connection and Disconnection of electrical motors.

  • Power Distribution maintenance 13KV line and associated equipment, Motor Control Center, and Substations.

  • Associate Degree or better in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrument Technology or equivalent experience (five years of experience as a journeyman I & E Mechanic)

 

Desired:

  • Working knowledge of control systems
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Working knowledge of various shutdown systems including, Triconex and Allen Bradley PLC logic

  • Must be able to work well in a team environment or independently.

  • Strong computer skills

  • Ability to communicate well with customers

  • Perform above mentioned duties with minimal guidance/ assistance
