Job purpose

Provide Inspection, Quality Assurance, and Quality Control services in assigned areas to maintain plant equipment in a safe, environmentally sound, mechanically reliable and profitable condition with the objective of managing maintenance costs and optimizing capacity utilization.

The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards.

 

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Actively participate in safety programs, lead safety meetings, and use safe work habits while performing the job.
  • Be responsible for the Equipment Inspection PM Program in the assigned units including setting intervals, physical inspections, testing, repair recommendations, and documentation.
  • Utilize and/or interpret results of non-destructive testing techniques to evaluate condition of equipment.
  • With necessary technical assistance, provide input for equipment fabrication, repair, and materials selection issues.
  • Utilize corrosion test racks and other on-stream techniques to monitor corrosion rates of equipment.
  • With necessary technical assistance, perform incident investigation on equipment failures; determine cause, recommend corrective action, and document.
  • Be a resource for and actively participate in meetings with Unit Support Teams, Turnaround Execution Teams, and problem solving teams in assigned areas.
  • Provide necessary feedback for completion of Predicted Repair & Replacement of Plant Equipment for inclusion in plant expense budget
  • Perform other job duties as assigned

Education requirements

  • High school education or equivalent

Background and experience

 

  • Minimum of 5 yrs. Maintenance craft or related experience
  • Prior inspection experience and certifications
  • Proficient with the computerized PM inspection program

DESIRED:

  •  Project and business system applications, such as SAP
  •  Manufacturing and fabrication processes and techniques for materials and equipment.
  •  VIII and API 653, 510, & 570
  •   Experience working with various welding processes

Competencies and skills

 

  • Working knowledge of computer programs, including Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Ability to effectively communicate through written and verbal correspondence
