Job Purpose:
Provide leadership, planning, coordination, development and coaching of the multi-disciplined Maintenance and Reliability Teams. The incumbent is responsible for the site-wide Mechanical Reliability, Maintenance, Turnaround and Construction processes at a level that optimizes safety, cost and reliability of the operating equipment and related processes. The incumbent is charged to ensure site Maintenance services and site Contractor services are cost effective, reliable, and in regulatory compliance and are performed by highly qualified employees.
The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, policies, guidelines and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform and HSE standards.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Coach, mentor and lead the Maintenance and Reliability Teams in maintaining and continuously upgrading the PPM programs and providing leadership for the Mechanical Integrity program site wide.
• Primary contact and PPR for the management of the Site Contract Maintenance & Construction contract. Ensures the effective utilization and cost control of resident contractor services.
• Audit the Maintenance and Reliability Team’s contributions, performance, and integration to ensure the business needs are being met and the site is in compliance with Government regulations, industry and company standards.
• Maintain a strong training program for staff development to meet site needs and priorities.
• Audit and consult on Root Cause Failure Analysis on mechanical non-conformance issues and implement recommendations to make improvements to the site processes and inspection systems.
• Champion the Mechanical Integrity element of the site Process Safety Management Process.
• Foster commitment to safe work practices within the entire Maintenance department.
• Lead development and adherence to the annual Maintenance budget both for Maintenance Expense and Capital Projects
• Interact with Capital Project planning to ensure all Maintenance and Mechanical Reliability projects are forecasted accurately.
• Works jointly with other site leadership to ensure site needs are met and a spirit of cooperation is fostered.
• Maintain appropriate KPI’s for the Maintenance department that accurately reflect performance and effectiveness of the group.
• Lead efforts to develop and monitor quality system processes.
• Direct Turnaround team in Turnaround planning and execution, scope development, budgeting, contractor selection and safe and timely completion of Turnaround activities.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.
Key Interactions:
Internal: All site leadership and Maintenance team members.
External: Vendors and outside service providers including resident contractors.
Notable Working Conditions: Combination of office and chemical plant field work. Occasional domestic and international travel required.
Education Requirements: B.S. degree or equivalent experience
Language Requirements: English
Background and Experience:
• 7+ years of combined leadership experience in areas of Plant Engineering, Maintenance, and Operational functions.
• Multi-group supervisory experience in such areas as Maintenance, Operations, Maintenance Engineering, Technical
Compentencies and Skills:
• Knowledge and experience in Maintenance, Maintenance Engineering and Reliability.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Continuous process improvement tools and processes.
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities in a continuously changing environment.
• Must be able to work and interface well with all levels in the Site
• Excellent knowledge of chemical process equipment
