Job purpose
Provides the leadership and management for the Maintenance Department to provide the site with maintenance services while ensuring safety, reliability, environmental compliance and cost control. Provides leadership to facilitate the effective use of qualified maintenance personnel across the site and to ensure the development of qualified maintenance personnel within the Maintenance workforce.
The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, and HSE standards.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Maintains a well-trained, competent maintenance staff and administers appropriate policies and procedures. Works jointly with other plant Team Leaders, Leaders, and Managers to ensure effective resource allocation.
- Values diversity and develops objectives and processes to meet plant and company diversity, inclusion, and EEO requirements.
- Ensures central maintenance team measures of performance demonstrate success in achieving the site services strategy.
- Supports, in cooperation with other Leaders and Managers, the development of the process for and ensure integration of EHSA compliance into the manufacturing teams.
- Lead Maintenance team efforts to develop and monitor quality system processes.
- Provide direction to all maintenance departments, including mechanical integrity, to ensure maintenance work process is cost effective and reliable.
- Maintains an active and effective safety program and supports the Hazardous Recognition Process and Total Safety process.
- Supports manufacturing management in preparing and controlling annual operating budget.
- Role model for OQ values. Lead, coach and empower employees and teams.
- Provide primary maintenance services for Scheduled work and some Emergency and Interrupt work.
- Ensure maintenance scheduling is up to date and PM’s are completed in a timely manner; this should include training appropriate
- personnel for backup responsibilities.
- Perform other job duties as assigned.
Education requirements
- 2 year Technical or Business degree
Background and experience
- 2 yr. Technical or Business Degree or greater
- At least 10 years of chemical industry experience;
- At least 5 years of leadership experience in an industrial environment.
- Equivalent Experience
Desired:
- BS Degree - Engineering
- Experience in Process control & Cost accounting techniques;
- Leadership experience of 10 years.
- Consequence Management
- Multi-functional experience in Manufacturing, Technical and Business areas
Competencies and skills
- Knowledge of Chemistry, chemical process techniques, basic mechanical equipment operation
- Basic management skills such as communication, organization, and leadership abilities.
