Oxo products are the core competency of OQ Chemicals. We are producing more than 70 oxo intermediates and oxo derivatives for customers in a wide range of industries with various end market applications. Job Purpose:
The Recruiter position provides support to OQ Chemicals Leadership, Human Resource Management, and staff in all talent acquisition needs. This position will effectively recruit qualified candidates for applicable job opportunities, conduct interviews, and assist with the onboarding process for all new hires. As well as assist employees with transitioning to OQ Chemicals and immigration/non-immigration coordination while providing an inviting, welcoming, and confidential environment for the employee. The position will act by the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as policies, guidelines, and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform and HSE standards.

 

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

Recruiting

  • Review and/or assist in preparing the paperwork needed for job postings. Post job opportunities via the appropriate means to reach target candidates.

  • ​​​​​​Ensure talent is available and pipelines are full at all levels of the organization: Recruit exempt and non-exempt positions for OQ Chemicals.

  • Execute sourcing strategies to fulfill the requirements of OQ Chemicals

  • ​​​​​​​Determining selection criteria

  • Source potential candidates through internal and external channels

  • Develop and implement new recruiting tools.

  • Ensure the hiring department receives qualified candidates by reviewing resumes/applications. Prescreen applicants and provide HR guidance to the hiring team.

  • Coordinate interview schedules with hiring departments, local state workforce agencies, staffing companies, etc., and arrange for applicants’ travel when applicable.

  • Use innovative technology for conducting interviews when appropriate, as well as for sourcing candidates.

  • Inform job applicants of details such as duties and responsibilities, compensation, benefits, schedules, working conditions, or promotion opportunities.

  • Professionally represent the Company at recruiting events such as job fairs, college engagements, high school presentations, and community events.

  • Assist with internships, including initial interviews, onboarding, transportation, required reporting/evaluations, etc.

  • Work closely with the hiring department to develop and update job descriptions and maintain a repository for future needs.​​​​​​​

 

Onboarding

  • Prepare necessary paperwork to present the offer to the candidate once proper authorization is received.

  • Schedule/Coordinate Pre-employment physicals and/or Drug/Alcohol Pre-screens.

  • Conduct pre-employment background checks.

  • Initiate onboarding documents, ensure all documents are the most current, and are properly completed.

  • Schedule and conduct new hire orientations effectively to ensure a smooth transition into the Company.

  • Maintain consistent communication with candidates throughout the recruiting process to manage requirements and expectations.

  • Professionally prepare and present new hire materials that effectively communicate among all learning styles. Update Company handbook as policies and HR practice changes occur. Ensure most updated I9 and W4 are distributed.

  • Utilize I9 and E-Verify systems to determine workers’ identity and employment eligibility within appropriate time constraints.

 

Compliance

  • Stay current on the company’s organizational structure, personnel policy, and federal and state laws regarding employment practices.

  • Assist HR Generalist with the coordination non-immigration and immigration processing while maintaining associated timelines as well as preparation of US Work Visa documentation; gather information and review and check for accuracy as needed.

  • Maintain accurate and updated records & files. 

  • Prepare monthly open positions report.

  • Prepare recommendation reports as required by HR Management.

  • Process billing, invoicing, and check requisitions related to individual recruiting tasks.  

  • Complete required training according to the Master Training plan.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Notable Working Conditions:

Office environment, intensive computer screen use, May work outside the regular schedule as needed. Travel 15% of the time in related to career fairs, recruiting efforts, presentations and sporadic visits to Corporate and Bishop Operations Site.

 

Education Requirements:

College degree in HR or related field plus a minimum of 3 year of direct HR experience, or H.S. Graduate or Equivalent plus minimum 5 years of direct HR experience considered. SHRM certification preferred.

 

Background and Experience:

  • A Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years’ in job related functions to Human Resources dependent on education. Experience in new hire on boarding, recruiting, public speaking/presentations, I-9/EVerify and Immigration and non-immigration processing preferred.

  • Knowledge of HIPAA required.

  • Knowledge of SAP Success Factors

  • Experience in recruiting features in Linked in a plus
