Job Purpose:

The Corporate Accounting Manager oversees the corporate accounting and reporting for OQ Chemicals, US, and supports the controlling and treasury function as required. In addition, responsibilities include managing the corporate accounting, tax, and financial reporting areas.


Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the monthly reporting pack for OQ Chemicals US consolidated, including cash flows with variance analysis.
  • Review monthly journal entries, accruals, prepaid, various account reconciliations and ensure timely month-end and year-end closures of books of accounts.
  • Sound knowledge of accounting standards and ensure compliance with IFRS reporting requirements.
  • Prepare accounting memos as necessary on specific accounting issues to justify our position in compliance with IFRS.
  • Ensure consistent and effective communication and alignment with OQ Chemicals EU Finance and cross-functional departments on various accounting aspects.
  • Prepare/ review annually Consolidated and individual IFRS financial statements, including cash flows in compliance with IFRS.
  • Liaise with auditors on the interim and year-end audits requirements to ensure smooth completion of the audit.
  • Review and ensure necessary audit schedules and reconciliations are in place.
  • Contribute to SAP and Accounting process improvements
  • Support other functions in Finance  (Plant and business Controlling, Treasury, AP etc.) and finance special projects area as needed.
  • Perform other Adhoc projects as assigned by VP of Finance


Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance plus CPA or similar professional accounting qualification


Background, Experience, Skills:

  • CPA/CA/ACCA with a minimum experience of 10 years in the Financial accounting and reporting  area.
  • Experience in Big 4 accounting in the assurance area.
  • Thorough accounting knowledge and well versed with IFRS / USGAAP.
  • Thorough knowledge in SAP / BI
  • People development and training skills.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in a chemical/petrochemical industry business is a plus
  • Positive attitude to learn new things and motivate teamwork.
  • Basic knowledge of US taxation for corporations.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint presentation skills
  • Strong analytical skills with and qualitative skills in reporting
  • Highly motivated with a willingness to learn and a contributor for continued improvements in the relevant area.
  • Previous experience in the manufacturing industry.
