Job Purpose:

As part of the Global Sales organization, the Regional Sales Director will be responsible for managing the regional sales team and work closely with the EVP Sales to accomplish company sales goals. In addition the Regional Sales Director will also manage own accounts to deliver profitable growth directly.

 

The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards.

 

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

 

  • Develops and implements value generating regional sales strategies in alignment with EVP Sales while deriving reliable Budget input, monthly volume forecasts and Key Account Plans.
    • Frames and delivers key contract negotiations according to agreed targets.
    • Leverages a diverse regional customer base across Business Lines and Product Families in favor of OQC, while correlating customer requirements with product properties and service levels.
    • Provides strong understanding of contracts and legal concepts for complex contracts including market as well as raw material-based pricing structures. 
    • Ensures close personnel market contact, e.g. through direct relationship building to key accounts and decision makers on a regional scale.
    • Detects and quantifies market dynamics and development trends (customers, applications, competition) including pass-through insights internally to other relevant OQC functions.
    • Explores new business opportunities, also in alignment with Business Development teams.
    • Manages payment targets and overdue handling
  • Guides the regional Sales team as an inspirational leader in an virtual environment
    • Build strong and cost-efficient team delivery capabilities to enable the implementation of the defined objectives of day-to-day business and of the group-wide long-term-plan on a regional scale.
    • Grows and develops people, encourage ownership to welcome the necessary organizational and technological changes based on transparent performance management and talent management principles.
    • Enforces defined Sales standards and procedures on a regional level, e.g. CRM usage, Marketing interface management.
    • Influences adaption for more effective and efficient procedures incl. account planning, reporting and digitalization.

Notable Working Conditions: Office environment, intensive computer screen use, traveling (up to <75%)

 

Education Requirements: 

  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with a Masters preferred.

 

Language Requirements: English Fluent in speech and writing 

 

Background and Experience:

  • 10 years of experience in B2B commercial functions - preferably sales roles - in the chemical industry.
  • >3 years relevant line management experience and proven track record as sales leader in international B2B environment with multi-cultural customers.
  • Profound knowledge of relevant customer and product/ service requirements of the different industries served.
  • Strong delivery capability and value creation track record through performance and results.
  • Assertiveness, high service, and solution orientation as well as strong customer focus.
  • Project management experiences to improve sales effectiveness and efficiency and apply change management objectives.
  • Cultural fit to the OQC values and spirit.
